what is a MICRO-FOLIE ?
A Micro-Folie is a cultural and digital initiative supported by the Ministry of Culture and coordinated by La Villette.
This innovative facility enables the development of fun and technological cultural projects related to art.
DIGITAL MUSEUM, MORE THAN 5,000 WORKS
TO DISCOVER
The Micro-Folie at the Hôtel-Dieu de Hautefort is centered around its digital museum.
This allows visitors to view thousands of works from major cultural institutions such as the Louvre, the Centre Pompidou, the Château de Versailles, the Paris Opera, and more on large screens and tablets.
The Digital Museum allows visitors to discover the treasures of 367 partner institutions and museums right in their own backyard. It offers digital versions of more than 5,000 works divided into 18 collections. Each month, the Micro-Folie will release a new collection.
VIRTUAL REALITY SPACE
La Micro-Folie offers a Virtual Reality space with a selection of immersive 360° content developed by ARTE, such as documentaries, shows, paintings, landscapes, animated films, and more.
In addition to the digital museum and the activities on offer, La Micro-Folie allows visitors to discover art games, including, thanks to a partnership with Ubisoft, the Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed. The Discovery Tour is a game that allows visitors to freely explore ancient Greece and ancient Egypt, and discover the Viking period to learn more about the history and daily life of these eras.
The fab-lab (fabrication laboratory)
A tool that accompanies the mediations, with the aim of stimulating curiosity and raising awareness of digital technology and its possibilities, all based on the principle of horizontal pedagogy.
- 3D Printer : A device that superimposes layers of material and produces a real object from a 3D model.
- Digital Embroidery Machine : Creates embroidery designs using a computer to control the needle movements.
